Product description

Quadrant Arm Stay – Traditional Window Hardware

A quadrant arm stay is a practical and stylish window fitting designed to help control the opening of compatible casement windows. Ideal for traditional interiors, period properties and window refurbishment projects, this classic window stay combines everyday functionality with an attractive finish. Available in a choice of five finishes and two lengths, it makes it easier to find a suitable option for your window hardware requirements. The quadrant arm stay is used on hopper / fanlight windows, the quadrant arm stay is handed both left and right and is fastened to both of the inside part of the frame next to the window projecting outwards, when the window is opened using the fanlight catch (SWH236) and pole hook (SWH163) on a pole, the window will fall outwards, the ends on the quadrant arm stays will prevent the window from opening any further than the end of the stays, supplied as a pair (left hand and right hand).

Choose Your Quadrant Window Stay Finish

Our quadrant arm stays are available in five finishes to complement different window styles and interior designs:

  • Polished Brass: A bright, traditional finish that adds warmth and character to classic interiors.
  • Polished Chrome: A clean, reflective finish suited to contemporary and traditional settings.
  • Satin Chrome: A subtle, understated finish with a softer metallic appearance.
  • Satin Nickel: A refined finish that works well with neutral colour schemes and modern hardware.
  • Antique Brass: A timeless, aged appearance ideal for period-inspired interiors and restoration projects.

Whether you are updating existing window fittings or completing a renovation, choosing a complementary finish helps create a consistent look throughout your property.

Available in 6-Inch and 8-Inch Lengths

This quadrant arm stay is available in two size options to suit different installation requirements:

  • 6 inch (152mm): A compact option for suitable window installations.
  • 8 inch (200mm): A longer alternative where the window design and fitting requirements call for it.

Before ordering, check the dimensions of your existing hardware and ensure the selected length is appropriate for your window. Also consider the available fixing space and the movement of the window when open.

A Practical Choice for Window Restoration

Quadrant window stays are commonly used with compatible casement window systems to help control how far a window opens. They can be a useful choice for joiners, builders, property maintenance professionals and homeowners undertaking window repairs or refurbishment work.

The classic design suits a range of projects, from updating individual window fittings to coordinating hardware throughout a larger renovation. For the best result, check compatibility with your window type and follow suitable installation guidance.

Product care

This product is made from Cast Brass and manufactured using the Traditional Sand Cast method.

The items requiring a Lacquer protection are protected using the Electrophoretically Lacquered process giving a very attractive long-lasting product.

When cleaning the product, use a cloth soaked in warm soapy water and dry off using a clean dry cloth – Do not use any chemical cleaners as this will harm the product and will break down the lacquer and tarnish the product.
